BOCA RATON — If former Florida Atlantic running back Buddy Howell doesn’t get selected in this week’s NFL Draft, he’s ready to follow in the footsteps of other undrafted free agents.
In a lengthy conversation before FAU’s spring game on Saturday, Howell discussed a recent stat he’d seen on social media about how several players who went undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft each earned multi-year contracts this offseason worth at least ten million dollars. Had those players been drafted, this year’s offseason would have been the first time they’d have hit free agency and been in line for a raise.
