Florida Atlantic running back Gregory Howell Jr. remembers the feeling of disappointment when he hung up the phone.
Last September he had just finished talking with his father, who has been incarcerated the past 14 years. Howell Jr. listened as the man he hasn't seen outside a correctional facility since he was 6 told a story of trying watch his son on television against Miami.
"He told me the other inmates tried to change the channel," the younger Howell said. "He said, 'That's my son,' and they didn't believe I was his son. I didn't like that.
