At the first open practice of the year, Florida Atlantic football coach Charlie Partridge watched the two candidates for the Owls’ starting quarterback position and saw very little that separates redshirt freshman Daniel Parr and redshirt sophomore Jason Driskel.
“That battle is going to rage on,” Partridge said Monday. “Both of them are doing a nice job, and it’ll remain even.”
New offensive coordinator Travis Trickett is slowly installing a new offense. The Owls will employ a spread offense this year, an attack that can take advantage of a quarterback’s mobility.
