Florida Atlantic junior cornerback Raekwon Williams recorded his first career interception during Sunday's 28-23 loss to Charlotte. It was his 30th collegiate game.
Williams was blitzing on the play early in the fourth quarter, appearing to leave receiver Workpeh Kofa open for a short curl. Quarterback Hasaan Klugh targeted Kofa, but Williams stopped his rush in time to jump and pick off the pass before it got to the line of scrimmage.
"I just wanted to make a play and get the offense back on the field," Williams said.
Prior to the season, the Jacksonville native said he wanted to intercept seven passes, which would tie the FAU single-season record.
