BOCA RATON — Losses like this weren’t supposed to be part of the Lane Kiffin era at Florida Atlantic.
Offensive struggles, defensive breakdowns, and 4th quarter collapses looked to be a thing of the past when Kiffin was hired as FAU’s football coach in December 2016. When FAU ended last year on a 10-game winning streak en route to winning both the Conference USA Championship and Boca Raton Bowl, none of those problems reared their head. For the first time since the Howard Schnellenberger days, all was right in Boca Raton.
This year’s FAU team, on paper, could have been better than last year’s historic group.
