On its way to a 52-3 win over Florida Atlantic on Saturday afternoon, Western Kentucky victimized the Owls' defense for big play after big play.
The Hilltoppers scored touchdowns on pass plays of 76, 54 and 65 yards in the first half, building an early 21-0 edge on their way to handing FAU its worst home loss in program history. The Owls' longest drive on offense was 33 yards. Western Kentucky had five plays that went for longer than that.
The big plays have been an issue throughout the season for FAU. Only seven teams in the country have allowed more 50-plus-yard plays than the Owls' nine.
