Florida Atlantic and Charlotte will stage an unlikely production Sunday, their theater extending complementary invitations to guests and its curtains separating a day after they were supposed to.
After a week of uncertainty, the Owls and the 49ers will take the field Sunday at noon at FAU Stadium. Due to the forecasted arrival of Hurricane Matthew, the game's status (originally scheduled for Saturday at 3:30 p.m.) was unknown until FAU finalized the start time Friday morning.
The circumstances are unique. For the first time since the Owls unveiled FAU Stadium in 2011, admission to Sunday's game is free, as is the parking.
