Last June, junior-college center Zack Bennett thought the recruiting process was over.
He was perfectly comfortable with his verbal commitment to Idaho State, a school in his home state. He was so set he told the Idaho Statesmen newspaper this on the date of his decision.
“I’m going to be committed to them unless I get a dream offer,” Bennett said.
That dream came in the form of Florida Atlantic coach Lane Kiffin. Bennett, a highly-rated prospect from Arizona Western Community College, is just one of many recruits who were sold on FAU solely because the presence of Kiffin.
