Back to the Florida Atlantic Owls Newsfeed

A healthy De'Andre Johnson and arrival of Josh Robison already has FAU coach Lane Kiffin think about spring QB battle

Florida Atlantic quarterback Jason Driskel led the Owls to 10 consecutive wins and earned Most Valuable Offensive Player honors in Tuesday’s Boca Raton Bowl.

He threw for 2,245 yards this season while completing 66 percent of his passes with 15 touchdowns and just four interceptions. Those numbers would normally make him the lock as the starter next season, right?

Not even close.

Even though the season is over, it’s not too early to look ahead to what is expected to be an intense quarterback competition in the spring. Former Last Chance U star De’Andre Johnson is soon expected to be medically cleared to return to the field after missing last year because of blood clots in his legs.
