5 Takeaways: Turnovers, poor defensive performance dooms Florida Atlantic in 56-36 loss to No. 16 Central Florida

ORLANDO — Despite three rushing touchdowns from AP All-American Devin Singletary, the Florida Atlantic Owls were unable to win their third straight game, falling 56-36 to the No. 16 Central Florida Knights.

FAU (2-2) became the first team to lead against UCF (3-0) this season late in the second half when redshirt freshman kicker Vladimir Rivas drilled a 32-yard field goal. But the Knights, who have won 16 straight dating back to last year, took a 21-17 lead into halftime and outscored the Owls 21-6 in the third quarter.

A veteran Owls defense struggled once again, allowing over 500 yards to Heisman contender McKenzie Milton and the Knights.
