FRISCO -- A stoppage-time penalty kick from Kei Kamara earned the Vancouver Whitecaps a 2-2 draw against FC Dallas, adding another draw to a list of home stalemates the club already feels is too long.
In the 98th minute, FC Dallas goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer came for a ball over the top. It escaped his grasp and an attempted clearance by a defender headed for Whitecaps forward Anthony Blondell. Maurer ran toward the Venezuelan forward, whose header was off-target, but took him out with his follow-through. Referee Ted Unkel pointed to the spot with Kamara stepping up to convert the equalizer in the 110th and final minute.
