After heavy thunderstorms ran through he MetroPlex on Saturday, the weather cleared just in time for the first-ever meeting between NPSL sides Denton Diablos and Fort Worth Vaqueros in the Chisholm Trail Clásico. After the storms flooded the Diablos home field at UNT the game was moved to Denton High School.
It's only appropriate that the game was an old west style shootout with goals coming fast and furious.
The Vaqueros controlled most of the first half possession and went into the locker room at halftime leading 2-1. Diablos did create a few chances on breakaway counter attacks by were denied by ex-FC Dallas goalkeeper Eduardo "Pollo" Cortes.
