The FIFA World Cup could return to North Texas in 2026 after the joint bid between the federations of the US, Mexico and Canada was officially submitted to FIFA this morning. Today's deadline was met with only two bids as the North American trio will contest with Morocco for the right to host the world's largest single-sport event.
"We've always been prepared for the fact that other countries could also decide to bid for the 2026 FIFA World Cup," said U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati. "Competition is good, and overall it shows the value and importance of the World Cup.
