MOSCOW -- Mexico's incontestable win over Germany is making it think its goal for Russia 2018 is not just to play a fifth game. It is to reach the final.
"This, as life, begins with dreams, and I think you must aspire to the highest and fight for it," said winger Miguel Layún, a starter of Mexico's team.
With a score from Hirving Lozano, Mexico defeated Germany 1-0 on Sunday at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium.
This was Mexico's first victory over Germany in official tournaments after playing the Europeans four times in world championships.
