FC Dallas has traded its No. 1 position in the MLS Allocation Ranking to Orlando City SC for $400,000 of Targeted Allocation Money and the Lions No. 6 position in the allocation process.
Orlando used the top spot to sign midfielder Oriol Rosell.
FC Dallas obtained the No. 1 position from Los Angeles Football Club in a trade for center back Walker Zimmerman on December 10, 2017.
Looking back on this deal, FC Dallas has picked up $900k in allocation money for Walker Zimmerman. Given how players like Darlington Nagbe and Justin Meram have recently been traded away for over $1 million in allocation money, I would suspect FCD technical director Fernando Clavijo feels pretty good about the return he is getting on this deal.
