Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down: Is the Javi Mo experiment worth another year’s shot?

The offseason assessment of each FC Dallas player rolls on as we follow up our piece on Maynor Figueroa with another veteran, midfielder Javier Morales.

Javier is an interesting case because really it comes down to what we all know he was/is capable of versus what he actually attained in his debut season in Frisco. He played the fewest minutes (757) since his rookie season and failed to eclipse the 2,000-minute mark for the first time since 2011.

That being said, he wasn’t brought in to play a key role, but to instead be a player-for-player swap at the attacking mid position with Mauro Diaz in hopes to avoid the offensive dry-spell the team previously encountered any time Diaz missed time.
