The good, bad and ugly of FC Dallas' start to the 2019 season

It feels like the season is just beginning, but after hosting the New York Red Bulls on Saturday, FC Dallas will be nearly a third of the way through the MLS campaign.

It's been a fascinating start to the Luchi Gonzalez era, and while the sample size still isn't immense, we've had 10 games to evaluate what the team can do under the rookie coach - and what may be too much to ask in the 2019 season.

Here's a look at a few of the bright spots, the blemishes and what FCD fans may not want to dwell on as FCD got out to a 5-3-2 record:

Gonzalez was clear before the season that just because he was taking over the first team after years as academy director, he wasn't going to play young players for the sake of it.
