FC Dallas hosted the Portland Timbers at Toyota Stadium on Saturday afternoon in the first "hot" game of the season. With no breeze and little cloud cover, the 87-degree temps felt worse than it was and zapped the energy from the game.
Dallas scored first with a goal from Roland Lamah on a play created by sophomore standout Jacori Hayes. FCD allowed Portland back in it with a poor second-half start. Sebastián Blanco grabbed the equalizer soon after the restart and the Timbers managed to hold on to the tie despite going down a man in the 75th minute.
