Talking Points: FC Dallas tops Minnesota United

FC Dallas played a struggling, reinforced Minnesota United Saturday night, defeating them 2-0 thanks to goals from Javier Morales and Michael Barrios. Thanks to a few tweaks, there is plenty to talk about.

Rotation was key

After crashing out of the CONCACAF Champions League on Tuesday, the restart button was needed to be pressed. That is exactly what Oscar Pareja did with rotating three players and a formation shift.

Throughout the season so far, Oscar Pareja has favored a flat 4-4-2. but shifted to an attacking 4-3-3. Because of this, Maynor Figueroa was rested and gave Atiba Harris the nod, Javier Morales got the start as the number 10, Cristian Colman was left on the bench in favor of Maxi Urruit, and Jesse Gonzalez started in goal ahead of Chris Seitz; but we’ll touch on that later.
