With FC Dallas center back Reto Ziegler suspended one match because he saw a red card in Saturday's 3-2 win over the LA Galaxy, coach Oscar Pareja will be forced to use a different back four for the first time in eight matches.
Ziegler and Matt Hedges have partnered in the center for the last eight games with Reggie Cannon playing right back and Anton Nedyalkov at left back. Luckily for Pareja, he has a tailor-made solution with veteran defender Maynor Figueroa likely to slot in for Ziegler against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday.
Figueroa signed a new deal after missing out on the World Cup with Honduras, meaning he didn't need to worry about accumulating minutes ahead of a trip to Russia.
