Landon Donovan huddles up with the San Diego Sockers. (3-24-19)
The San Diego Sockers imposed their will from the jump and simply outclassed the Dallas Sidekicks, 13-3, Sunday afternoon at the Allen Events Center. Even with an involved but mostly quiet game from US national team star Landon Donovan, the Sidekicks rarely challenged the Sockers.
Unlike previous games between the Sidekicks and other top league teams, San Diego had put four goals behind Juan Gamboa before Dallas scored, and the rout continued in the second half. It was definitely not for a lack of effort, as Dallas never stopped challenging.
