Scoreless streak comes crashing down as FC Dallas defeats defending MLS Cup champs 2-1

FRISCO -- It only took one before another followed.

After nearly 350 minutes of scoreless play, defender Ryan Hollingshead broke the streak and scored for FC Dallas. Two minutes later, center back Walker Zimmerman headed home a corner kick to put FCD up 2-1 on the Portland Timbers. That scoreline held as FC Dallas beat the defending MLS Cup champion Wednesday.

The Texas side needed the win, returning home after a three-game road trip that resulted in three defeats and exposed some of the weaknesses of a team that has title aspirations after losing to the Timbers in last season's conference finals.
