It took more than 1,000 minutes, but Michael Barrios finally scored an MLS goal this season, bagging a hat trick in Saturday's 3-2 victory over Sporting Kansas City.
He's making sure there isn't such a long gap between goals again.
"I had a lot of games without scoring, but as an attacker the goal can give you confidence. It fills you with a sense of calm," he said. "I was definitely feeling a bit uncomfortable, anxious, but I knew the goal would come, and thankfully it came in a hat trick."
It's the first time Barrios has scored three goals in a game in his professional career.
