Rayados outlast OKC Energy in extra time

Each year the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup presents us with an amateur team on an inspired cup run. Last year, it was Christos FC, who made it to the fourth round and led DC United in the fourth round before falling 4-1.

This year, it could well be happening in our backyard with the NTX Rayados. A week after beating NPSL side Ft. Worth Vaqueros, the Rayados took their first professional scalp with FC Dallas' USL affiliate OKC Energy, winning a 5-2 decision in extra time.

As the game wound down at a score of 2-1, the Oklahomans looked like setting up a third-round clash with Wichita FC, who had just seen off the Energy's rivals, the Tulsa Roughnecks.
