Mark Carr has named two North Texas forwards to the US U17 Women's National Team for the CONCACAF Women's U17 Championship. The tournament will serve as the CONCACAF qualifying tournament for the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup, with the top three teams advancing to November's World Cup in Uruguay.
FC Dallas' Diana Ordonez, Solar SC's Samantha Meza, and the national team will travel to Nicaragua for the tournament, which will be held April 19-29.
Ordonez, from Prosper, is following in the footsteps of another FC Dallas product in Taryn Torres. Torres recently qualified for the U20 edition of the FIFA Women's World Cup, and Ordonez has already committed to the University of Virginia for 2019, where Torres was named among the nation's top freshmen by Top Drawer Soccer last year.
