Oklahoma City Energy FC have signed former New York Cosmos defender David Diosa.
The 24-year-old Colombian joins the Energy after three seasons with the recent dissolved yet revived NASL side. Since joining New York’s senior team in 2013, Diosa appeared in 39 matches, scored four goals, and provided five assists.
Energy FC head coach Jimmy Nielsen commented on the recent signing, stating that the defender’s versatility was a major factor in the club’s decision to sign the Colombian.
“He will want to come in and prove himself,” said Nielsen. “He is versatile…can play left back, left wing or right wing, which gives us multiple options for our attack and defense.
