FC Dallas announced earlier this afternoon that Technical Director Fernando Clavijo will be stepping down from his role to focus on his health and recovery. In this process, Luiz Muzzi has been promoted to VP of Soccer Operations and will be overseeing player personnel, team administration and scouting for the club.
Clavijo was instrumental in bringing Oscar Pareja back in 2014 from the Colorado Rapids to take over head coaching duties. He has signed key players from the Academy to the first team such as Reggie Cannon.
Though Clavijo will be sorely missed, the change won’t be very dramatic as Muzzi’s been working behind the scenes and hand in hand with Clavijo since 2012.
