Imagine if the Rangers could have signed local product Clayton Kershaw. Or the Cowboys signed local product Matthew Stafford. Or the Mavericks signed LaMarcus Aldridge.
The draft and rules in those sports make it difficult to keep the local kids home.
Not so for soccer. FC Dallas signed its MLS-record 15th homegrown player to a contract Thursday when Paxton Pomykal agreed to terms.
Pomykal is special -- like Kershaw, Stafford and Aldridge were special in their sports. At 16, he is the second youngest player ever to sign a contract with FC Dallas. He's from Lewisville.
