FC Dallas winger Freddy Vargas has been called up to represent Venezuela in the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in September. He earns his second call up to La Vinotinto and has yet to make his national team debut.
Vargas is the fourth FC Dallas player to receive a call-up for the World Cup Qualifiers. Midfielder Bryan Acosta (Honduras), Homegrown Ricardo Pepi (United States), and winger Szabolcs Schön (Hungary) will all represent their respective countries on their road to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. All four will miss this weekend’s game in Utah as FC Dallas takes on Real Salt Lake.
