Ted Eck hasn't played in Dallas since 2001, his final season with the Burn. But it's still special anytime the current Real Salt Lake assistant coach returns to a place that will always hold a place in his heart.
"I enjoy driving up to the stadium and seeing my picture there holding the [U.S.] Open Cup trophy from '97," Eck said. "We played at the Cotton Bowl all my years there. I would have loved to have played in a new soccer stadium [like Toyota Stadium], but playing in the Cotton Bowl was really special too. I haven't been back there since my playing days, and I'd love to go to a sporting event there again one day.
