A heavily rotated FC Dallas team suffered an unexpected heavy loss on Wednesday night in Seattle with a 5-0 defeat to the Sounders who managed to record their biggest ever MLS victory in franchise history. They opened the scoring with an early Clint Dempsey penalty which was awarded following a Maynor Figueroa handball which saw the experienced defender dismissed before adding two more soon after through Andreas Ivanschitz and Jordan Morris. Dempsey managed to pick up a straight red card himself for a petulant slap on Juan Ortiz, but that didn't shake up the hosts too much who added two more goals in the second half through Joevin Jones and Cristian Roldan to cap off a resounding victory.
