The FC Dallas Academy U17s kicked off their play in the Generation adidas Cup on Friday in an afternoon match against AS Monaco. Dallas, led by the standout play of Tanner Tessman in midfield, came away with a 2-1 win.
FC Dallas sits atop Group D after the first set of games ahead of LA Galaxy 2 to 1 on goals for. LA and FCD were the only two MLS clubs to win on opening day of the GA Cup.
"The start was important for us," said FC Dallas U17 Coach Luchi Gonzalez after the match.
