FC Dallas rode three first-half goals including one that came off the punt of their goalkeeper to help get the first win of the season, a 4-1 decision over the Portland Timbers.
FC Dallas kicked off things quickly with a goal in the second minute of the match from Andres Ricarute. Ryan Hollingshead got forward on the play and found himself behind the Timbers’ defense with the ball. The veteran found the run of Ricaurte who slotted home an easy finish past the Portland keeper.
Dallas doubled their lead ten minutes later on a picture-perfect ball from Phelipe over the Timbers defense to the run of Jader Obrien, who calmly chipped the Portland keeper for his first goal in MLS.
