FC Dallas picks up 2020 SuperDraft first round pick from D.C. United

5/3/19 Update: FC Dallas announced today that it has acquired D.C. United’s natural first round pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft in exchange for $100,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM). Additionally, the club announced that it has waived defender Marquinhos Pedroso, who was subsequently claimed by D.C. United off waivers.

Injuries, a new system and head coach could be to blame for the fall of Marquinhos Pedroso in Dallas this year. The fullback as been traded to D.C. United in exchange for a first round draft pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft.

Washington Post reporter Steve Goff first reported the trade on Tuesday morning, saying that FC Dallas would keep the cost of Pedroso on their books for 2019.
