FC Dallas' rookie coach Luchi Gonzalez has stayed true to his promise of trying to get his team to play beautiful soccer, keeping the ball and stringing together connections in search of a high volume of attacking chances.
He also knows that at times he'll have to ugly it up.
That was the situation against a Colorado Rapids team that would've been happy to leave Toyota Stadium with a draw on Saturday.
"We're a possession-based team. I felt we sacrificed some of that possession to be more vertical, to be more aggressive playing forward," Gonzalez said Tuesday.
