The group draw for the 2016-17 CONCACAF Champions League took place yesterday in Miami Beach with 5 MLS teams taking part. FC Dallas was drawn into Group H along with Real Estelí FC of Nicaragua and CD Suchitepéquez of Guatamala.
The 2016-17 CCL will start in August with the group stage running through October (schedule to be announced). The 2016-17 Champions League winner will advance to the 2017 FIFA Club World Cup.
In the group stage, each group is played on a home-and-away round-robin basis. The winners of each group advance to the quarterfinals.
Real Estelí FC
Real Estelí FC plays in the Nicaraguan first division and in the town of Estelí (population ~130,000 3rd largest in Nicaragua) located on the northern side of the country.
