With the advent of the FC Dallas USL side North Texas Soccer Club, it seemed likely to me that FC Dallas might slow down their pace on Homegrown signings. At the Luchi Gonzalez press conference, I got a chance to ask FC Dallas Owner Clark Hunt if that would be the case - will we see FC Dallas be less aggressive in signing Homegrowns?
"I actually think it will amplify what we can do," Hunt said, "because we've been restrained by roster spots on the MLS first team squad, to approximately 30."
And that's been a dilemma for FC Dallas since the beginning of what we might call the Homegrown era, attempting to sign as many Homegrowns as they could but having only limited MLS roster space.
