Providence Park looks a bit different than the last time FC Dallas visited.
FCD will become the fourth team to visit the new-and-improved stadium when they take on the Portland Timbers there at 10 p.m. Sunday night. Already one of the most intimidating atmospheres in MLS, with sell-out crowds the expectation rather than a celebrated rarity, the Timbers added 4,000 seats to the facility during the offseason.
The renovation stretched into the regular season, with the Timbers starting off the season with a dozen matches on the road. The struggles the Timbers had, starting the year winless in its first six matches, largely have dissipated.
