FRISCO -- FC Dallas' 3-1 win against the Chicago Fire on Saturday night at Toyota Stadium was significant for several reasons.
For one, FCD (12-6-4, 40 points), which leads the MLS Western Conference and owns the league's best record, rebounded nicely from a 5-0 loss at Seattle on Wednesday. Maxi Urruti, Mauro Diaz and Mauro Rosales got the goals for Dallas.
Also, FCD defeated the Fire for the first time since 2011. That means the Brimstone Cup, a supporters trophy created in 2001, has returned to FCD after four seasons in Chicago. Saturday was the teams' only scheduled match this season.
