FC Dallas needed more than a point on Sunday evening but that is all they’ll leave with as they drew New York City FC 1-1.
The two sides split points in a foul-filled game that saw 29 fouls between the two clubs.
City took the lead one minute into the match on a goal from Valentín Castellanos. Maxi Morales and Anton Tinnerholm connected with Castellanos in the middle of the penalty box and NYC striker easily beat Jesse Gonzalez.
Dallas had a chance at a penalty kick right before halftime as Michael Barrios was brought down in the penalty box but the center official opted not to go to the video review.
