FC Cincinnati selected former FC Dallas winger Roland Lamah with the third pick of the 2018 MLS Expansion Draft. FC Dallas will receive $50,000 in General Allocation Money from MLS in compensation for the Ivorian's rights, and the team may now be exempt from the 2019 Expansion Draft when Nashville and Miami enter the league.
Lamah spent two seasons with FC Dallas, making 69 appearances with 20 goals. The 30-year-old finished tied with Maxi Urruti as the team's top scorer in MLS play on eight goals.
Lamah had left Toyota Stadium after having his option declined in late November, so this will provide relief to a team that gambled on leaving two starting defenders exposed in Marcos Pedroso and Reto Ziegler.
