The Ecuadorian Federation has announced their squad for the 2019 Copa America in Brazil and FCD's Carlos Gruezo has been named to the 23 men team. Copa American runs from June 14th to July 7th this year.

Gruezo will wear #8 for the squad and he was singled out by his coach Hernán Darío Gómez as a key member of the team, "Carlos Gruezo is a man different from everyone who has a special job for our tactical system.
