It's been a big week for Cristian Colman. After making just his fifth start of the season this weekend in FCD's win over the Whitecaps, he was named to the Paraguay senior national team for the first time in his career.
Colman has been inconsistent since arriving from Nacional Asuncion as a young designated player, but Pareja said his effort in training sessions combined with his physical stature made it the right move to put him in the 11 this week.
"We decided to bring Colman into the lineup in a game where we thought we could use his skills and also because Cristian has been playing really well in training, with a lot of confidence," Pareja said.
