FC Dallas was in the driver's seat for most of the game but as they tired down the stretch ended up sitting deep near the end of the game and allowing Queretaro to equalize late. FCD's Joel Bustamante was the hero late in the first half with the opening goal and also cost his team late with a red card.
As the first half wound down, Bustamante chested down a cross and calmly finished for the 1-0 lead with about 30 seconds left to go.
A straight red card to one of Queretaro's defenders (#354) for bringing down Kevin Bonilla on a breakaway in the 61st minute seemed to put the game clearly in FCD hands.
