Notre Dame sophomore defender Drue Tranquill is, at present, a man without a set position. Several will have to suffice.
Like most of us, Drue Tranquill has a preference.
And like the best among us, he readily subjugates that singular interest for the greater good.
So when the Notre Dame sophomore from nearby Fort Wayne, Ind., offers, “It’s so great to be out there with your brothers again,” it’s more than the requisite lip service of a player returning from season-ending injury.
Tranquill’s rookie season ended in a manner similar to many who participate in the violent sport: he tore his ACL – par for the course for a football lifer.
