Smith limited; Griffen added to injury report

Harrison Smith returned to practice on a limited basis, but another defensive starter joined Linval Joseph and Anthony Barr among the non-participants on Wednesday’s injury report.

The Minnesota Vikings are moving toward full strength with their starting safeties at least, even if a couple of their other top defenders weren’t on the practice field Wednesday as they prepared for the Chicago Bears.

Harrison Smith, after being inactive last week against the Arizona Cardinals, was limited on Wednesday.

“I’m alright. I moved around a little bit today,” he said.

After trying to come back from a knee injury and starting the Seattle Seahawks game, Smith played only 10 snaps before he left that game with a hamstring injury that was “pretty related” to his knee injury, causing him to sit out the Cardinals game.
