Notre Dame buries Massachusetts with 34-point outburst over a 16-minute span, winning 62-27 Saturday afternoon in South Bend.
NOTRE DAME, Ind. – C.J. Sanders provided the turning point, C.J. Prosise the now-expected production, and seven Notre Dame players scored touchdowns as the Irish eventually shook free of game but overmatched Massachusetts, 62-27.
Prosise finished with 149 rushing yards in what amounted to less than two-and-a-half quarters of action, scoring on runs of 57 and 16 yards among his 15 carries. The Irish backfield received additional contributions from the freshman tandem of Josh Adams and Dexter Williams, the latter scoring his first career touchdown, a sprint left from 14 yards out while Adams punctuated the proceedings with a 70-yard score midway through the final period.
