Oregon made a defensive change against California on Saturday at Autzen Stadium, a by product of that change was that the Ducks beat the Bears 44-28. That change was moving defensive backs coach John Neal to coaches box, high above the playing field to facilitate communicatios and smooth out the defensive play calling that he been the bane to Oregon's success during the 2015 season.
Headed into its game with Califronia Oregon was dead last in the Pac-12 Conference in points allowed (38.4 points per game), total offense allowed (496.9 ypg) and passing allowed (318.0). On Saturday night, the Ducks showed improved by reduciing the points allowed to 28 and total offense to 432 yards against a very explosive California offense.
