Chase Claypool lit up the box score in B.C. Abbotsford’s 45-27 upset of Lord Tweedsmuir.
Claypool, who committed to Notre Dame over Michigan and Oregon at The Opening, had four touchdowns, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and led his team in tackles at the free safety position.
“It was awesome,” Claypool said. “They were favored by 14 points and they are a 3-A team, and we’re in the 2-A division. So, it was a great way to start our season like that.”
Claypool caught touchdown passes of 80, 59 and 50 yards and ran back a kick return 89 yards for another score.
