With the season less than a week away, here’s a look at the current depth chart at linebacker:
Sam: James Onwualu, Greer Martini
Mike: Joe Schmidt, Jarrett Grace, Nyles Morgan
Will: Jaylon Smith, Te’von Coney, Austin Larkin
Grace and Schmidt will exhaust their eligibilities after this season, and Smith is a smart bet to jump into the NFL Draft. Barring unknown attrition, Notre Dame should return all other linebackers, with Onwualu being the lone senior.
